Two groups of artists quarrelled before a king as to whose artistic abilities were superior. Annoyed by their bickering the king decided to test them. He pointed to hilltop on which stood two houses.

Each group was given one house to decorate. The first group asked for a hundred colours... The second said they didn't need any colours.After the first finished their work, they invited the sultan to the house.

The house was beautifully painted with every colour imaginable.The other group had used no colours. They had polished the walls of their house so brightly that the colours of the painted house were reflected on its walls.
